Ages 2-3

Parent-And-Me

Our Parent & Me classes are full of movement, music, and fun for both dancers and their grown-ups! Each week, classes will alternate between Tap/Ballet and Jazz/Hip Hop while still including the free movement and playful activities our tiny dancers already love. Rotating styles keeps things fresh, exciting, and engaging so little ones can keep exploring, learning, and grooving without ever getting bored!

Dress Code: clothes that are comfortable to move around in,‍ BLOCH tap shoes preferred, socks or ballet flats

Ages 3-5

Twinkle Toes

Our Tiny Movers classes are full of movement, music, and fun for our independent little dancers ages 3–5! Each week, classes will alternate between Tap/Ballet and Jazz/Hip Hop while still including the free movement and playful activities kiddos love. Rotating styles keeps things fresh, exciting, and engaging while helping dancers build confidence, coordination, creativity, and a love for movement in a supportive environment.

Dress Code: clothes that are comfortable to move around in, BLOCH tap shoes preferred, socks or ballet flats

**This class have one dance in the annual recital. The style will be decided upon by the instructor in the Spring.

Ages 5-7

Beginning Fancy Feet

Beginning Fancy Feet I is a 60-minute Tap and Lyrical Combo class designed for dancers ages 5–7 who are new to dance or building a strong foundation. Dancers will learn the basics of tap and lyrical technique while developing coordination, rhythm, musicality, emotional expression, creativity, basic dance terminology, and classroom etiquette. This fun and encouraging class helps young dancers gain confidence as they explore movement and begin telling stories through dance.

**This class has one lyrical and one tap dance in the recital.

Beginning Funky Feet

Beginning Funky Feet is a 60-minute Hip Hop and Jazz Combo class designed for dancers ages 5–7 who are new to dance or building a strong foundation. Dancers will learn the fundamentals of jazz and hip hop technique while developing coordination, rhythm, musicality, confidence, creativity, basic dance terminology, and classroom etiquette. This energetic and engaging class encourages self-expression through movement while introducing age-appropriate skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Dress Code: clothes that are comfortable to move around in, clean tennis shoes and black jazz shoes

**This class has one hip hop and one jazz dance in the recital.

Pre-Ballet/Ballet 1

Pre-Ballet/Level 1 Ballet is designed for beginning dancers ages 5 and up who are ready to build a strong foundation in classical ballet. Through age-appropriate barre work, center exercises, and across-the-floor progressions, students will develop proper technique, posture, alignment, flexibility, strength, balance, coordination, musicality, and artistry. Dancers will also learn French ballet terminology, classroom etiquette, and the discipline and confidence that support lifelong dance training. This class encourages both technical excellence and artistic expression while preparing dancers for higher ballet levels.

Dress Code: leotard with or without a skirt, ballet flats, hair pulled back

Level 1

Advanced Fancy Feet

Advanced Fancy Feet II is a 60-minute Tap and Lyrical Combo class for dancers who have mastered beginning fundamentals and are ready for the next step. This class builds on foundational tap and lyrical technique with increased focus on musicality, emotional expression, storytelling through movement, rhythm, flexibility, strength, and performance quality. Dancers will continue expanding their dance vocabulary while refining technique, improving coordination, and developing confidence as expressive performers.

**This class has one lyrical and one tap dance in the recital.

Advanced Funky Feet

Advanced Funky Feet is a 60-minute Hip Hop and Jazz Combo class for dancers who have mastered beginning fundamentals and are ready for the next step. This class builds on foundational jazz and hip hop technique with increased focus on musicality, precision, style, performance quality, coordination, strength, and confidence. Dancers will continue developing their technique while exploring dynamic choreography, expressive movement, and age-appropriate performance skills in a positive and encouraging environment.

Dress Code: clothes that are comfortable to move around in, clean tennis shoes and black jazz shoes

Pre-Ballet/Ballet 1

Levels 2-3

UNITY Workshop is a fun, high-energy class designed for dancers in Levels 2 & 3 who love to learn choreography! Each week features a brand-new combo, giving dancers the opportunity to explore a variety of styles while building versatility, confidence, and performance quality. Styles will rotate throughout the season and may include jazz, contemporary, hip hop, lyrical, tap, poms, musical theater, and more! Best of all, UNITY Workshop is completely FREE and is open to UDS dancers, as well as to the public! This class is offered on a drop-in basis, so dancers can attend whenever they're available.

Drop-In: Register through your Studio Pro portal. Please do not register more than one week in advance. Space is limited and first come, first served.

Dress Code: hair securely pulled back and dressed in comfortable, attire. Dancers should bring clean dance shoes appropriate for a variety of styles (such as turners, socks, tap shoes, sneakers, etc). Since the style changes each week, come ready for anything!

Levels 4-5

UNITY Workshop is a fast-paced, choreography-focused class designed for Levels 4 & 5 dancers looking to challenge themselves, expand their versatility, and have fun! Each week features a brand-new combo, exposing dancers to a wide variety of styles while strengthening performance quality, musicality, style, and adaptability. Styles will rotate throughout the season and may include jazz, contemporary, hip hop, lyrical, and more! UNITY Workshop is completely FREE and is open to UDS dancers, as well as to the public! This class is offered on a drop-in basis, giving dancers the flexibility to attend whenever they're available.

Ballet

Levels 2 through 5

Through the Vaganova method, Ballet classes will help dancers with posture, flexibility, fitness, balance, self-discipline, and self-confidence. Students are taught proper body placement, body alignment, barre and center floor work, along with across the floor combinations. Each level increases in difficulty in technicality, expressivity and performance quality, and vocabulary.

Dress Code: acceptable attire includes shorts, leotard, ballet skirt, tights, tank top/sports bra, hair pulled back and fully secure, ballet flats without holes - NO leggings & NO baggy clothes

**These classes do not have a recital dance. However, dancers enrolled in ballet may participate in the ballet mini production for recital.

Tap

Levels 2 through 5

Tap focuses on rhythms and patterns in footwork through proper technique, as well as personal style and producing clear sounds. each level increases in difficulty in technicality, expressivity and performance quality, and vocabulary.

Dress Code: clothes that are comfortable to move around in, hair pulled back, BLOCH tap shoes (Jason Samuel smith tap shoes are preferred for tap 4 and tap 5)

Jazz

Levels 2 through 5

Jazz dance combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with current forms of popular dance. Classes include warm up, isolations, stretches, across the floor progressions, and choreography combinations. each level increases in difficulty in technicality, expressivity and performance quality, and vocabulary.

Dress Code: fitted clothes that are comfortable to move around in, jazz shoes, socks, turners, or bare feet, hair secured away from face - NO baggy clothes

Contemporary

Levels 2 through 5

Contemporary blends several types of dance into its own unique style. It includes elements of ballet, jazz, modern, and even hip hop. This style of dance encourages the freedom of expression, improvisation, innovation and creative exploration of movement. Each level increases in difficulty in technicality, expressivity and performance quality, and vocabulary.

Hip Hop

Levels 2 through 5

Hip Hop is the pinnacle of self-expression. Classes include warm-up, moving across the floor, style exploration (popping, locking, waving, gliding, isolations, footwork combinations, house, etc), choreographic combinations, and freestyle. Each level increases in difficulty and technicality, expressivity and performance quality, and vocabulary.

Pre-Pointe & Pointe

Pre-Pointe & Beginning/Intermediate Pointe

Pre-Pointe/Beginning & Intermediate Pointe is designed for students ages 9 and up who are currently enrolled in ballet. The class serves three groups of dancers: those preparing for pointe work, those beginning their pointe journey, and those continuing to build foundational pointe technique. Students will be assessed through periodic pre-pointe evaluations throughout the year to determine their readiness for pointe work. As dancers demonstrate the necessary strength, alignment, technique, and maturity, they may begin pointe work in class and eventually progress into the Intermediate/Advanced Pointe class when ready.

Dress Code: acceptable attire includes shorts, leotard, ballet skirt, tights, tank top/sports bra, hair pulled back and fully secure, ballet flats without holes (or pointe shoes that are not dead) - NO baggy clothes

Required prerequisite: must be currently enrolled and regularly attending a ballet class at UDS

Intermediate/Advanced Pointe

Intermediate/Advanced Pointe is designed for dancers with prior pointe experience who have demonstrated the strength, alignment, technique, and maturity necessary for more advanced pointe work. Students will continue to refine their ballet technique while working en pointe through barre exercises, center work, and across-the-floor combinations. This class emphasizes strength, balance, artistry, musicality, expressivity, and performance quality while expanding technical proficiency, vocabulary, and confidence. As dancers progress, combinations and choreography will increase in complexity to further develop endurance, precision, and artistry.

Dress Code: acceptable attire includes shorts, leotard, ballet skirt, tights, tank top/sports bra, hair pulled back and fully secure, pointe shoes that are not dead - NO leggings & NO baggy clothes

Requiredprerequisite: must be currently enrolled and regularly attending a ballet class at UDS

Gameday Poms

All Levels (Ages 8-11 and Ages 12-18)

Bring the energy and team spirit to the dance floor! Gameday Poms is a high-energy class that combines sharp, synchronized pom motions with dynamic jazz and hip hop choreography—just like you’d see at a halftime show or on the sidelines at a game!

Dress Code: fitted clothes that are comfortable to move around in, clean tennis shoes, hair down is recommended

Dance Team Prep & Technique

High School Dance Team Technique (Ages 13-18)

Designed for dancers preparing for or currently participating in high school dance team, this class focuses on the technical skills and precision required for team success. Dancers will refine sharp, clean pom arm placement, master proper pom walks, improve jump height and technique, strengthen turns (including pirouettes, tours, etc.), and develop dance team-specific tricks, transitions, and performance quality. Emphasis is placed on synchronization, musicality, projection, and attention to detail to help dancers stand out at auditions and perform confidently throughout the season. This class is an excellent supplement for anyone looking to build the technique and polish needed for high school dance team.

College Dance Team Prep

Take your training to the next level with this advanced class designed for dancers aspiring to audition for or currently dancing on a college dance team. This class combines technique, strength and conditioning, and choreography with a primary focus on collegiate game day poms. Dancers will build the power, precision, and endurance required at the college level while refining turns, jumps, leaps, pom arm placement, kick technique, and dance team tricks. Classes will also include across-the-floor progressions, flexibility training, conditioning, and learning fast-paced, performance-ready combinations that reflect the style and expectations of collegiate dance teams. Emphasis is placed on execution, performance quality, projection, synchronization, and preparing dancers for the demands of college auditions and game day performances.

Conditioning

Core Company Conditioning & Technique

This technique-focused class is exclusively for Unity Dance Space Core Competitive Company members and is designed to strengthen and refine the technical foundation needed for competitive dance. Dancers will improve flexibility through targeted stretching, build core and overall strength with conditioning exercises, and develop proper alignment, control, and body awareness to enhance their jumps, turns, and overall performance quality. Each class includes focused training on leap variations, turning technique (including pirouettes, fouettés, and à la secondes), extensions, balance, and stamina while emphasizing clean execution, precision, and consistency. This required supplemental class helps competitive dancers continue building the strength, technique, and artistry needed to excel throughout the competition season.

All Levels Conditioning

Build strength, increase flexibility, and improve endurance in this all-levels conditioning class designed for dancers of every age and experience level. Each class combines full-body strength training, core stabilization, balance work, and cardio conditioning with targeted stretching to improve flexibility, mobility, and overall body awareness. Dancers will focus on developing the strength needed to support proper technique, prevent injuries, and enhance performance in all styles of dance. Whether you're looking to build stronger muscles, improve your splits, increase stamina, or simply stay in shape, this class is a great addition to any dancer's training.

Acro/Flips and Springs

Acro Dance blends the athleticism of acrobatics with the fluidity of dance, creating a dynamic and exciting experience for students of all levels. This class focuses on developing strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination while safely learning skills like handstands, cartwheels, walkovers, aerials, and more.

Students will build their technique from the ground up, progressing through acro tricks at their own pace with proper conditioning and spotting. Whether you're a dancer looking to add wow-factor tricks to your routines or simply want to explore a new challenge, Acro is the perfect fusion of power and grace.

Preliminary Dance - we currently offer ballet and jazz, BUT more WILL BE OFFERED WITH ENOUGH INTEREST!

Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, & Contemporary

Preliminary dance classes are for dancers ages 11-18 with little to know prior dance experience. Preliminary classes will start with basics skills and technique and progress quickly to prepare dancers to ultimately join a leveled class of each respected style.

Ballet Dress Code: acceptable attire includes shorts, leotard, ballet skirt, tights, tank top/sports bra, hair pulled back and fully secure, ballet flats without holes - NO baggy clothes

Yoga

Youth and Adult Yoga

Yoga is a practice that combines physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to connect the body, breath, and mind.
