UDS Competetive Company

Dance company offers:

  • PERFORMANCE: MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO PERFORM.

  • TECHNIQUE: OFTEN, COMPETETIVE DANCERS SPEND MORE TIME AT THE STUDIO AND THUS GIVEN MORE OPPORTUNITY TO IMPROVE DANCE SKILLS.

  • TENACITY: ONE OF THE MOST INVALUABLE LESSONS DANCERS LEARN ON A COMPETITION TEAM IS HOW TO ACCEPT AND APPLY CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM.

  • FRIENDSHIP: WHILE YOU MIGHT BE THERE TO COMPETE AGAINST OTHERS, DANCE TEAMS AND COMPETITION SETTINGS ARE WHERE SOME OF THE STRONGEST FRIENDSHIPS ARE FORGED.

2025-2026 UDS Competitive Company Registration Form

  • UDS Company members are required to register and regularly attend:

    1. Ballet

    2. Conditioning & Technique

    3. Contemporary

    4. Either Hip Hop, Jazz, or Tap

    • Additional styles are optional, unless a dancer wishes to compete in that style. In that case, enrollment in the corresponding weekly class is required.

    • Yoga is highly encouraged for company dancers ages 12+ - yoga aids in balance, flexibility, stability, stress management, joint health, and more!

  • Levels 2 and up will participate in two regional competitions in 2027 and one nationals competition in 2027. This includes:

    • Audition fee - $25 (due by time of audition)

    • Choreography is either by a UDS staff member or a guest choreographer.

    • Student choreography is allowed with prior approval by Director to dancers ages 15+

    • UDS Company is one team. There are no teams separated by age/level (i.e. no juniors, teens, or seniors).

    • While age will be a consideration, dancers will simply be selected for each dance routine based on ability in each specific dance style rather than by age alone.

    • Although UDS only has one dance team, each routine will be leveled (i.e. advanced tap, beginning contemporary, etc).

    • All company routines will perform in the UDS recital.

    • Dancers ages 5-7 and enrolled and regularly attending funky feet are eligible to be in Lil Hoppers

    • Lil Hoppers choreography fee - $100 with monthly FREE monthly rehearsal

    • 50% choreography fee due August 25th 2025

    • Remaining choreography balance due October 25th, 2025

    • Lil Hoppers will compete one hip hop routine

    • Choreography is done by Chloe

    • Lil Hoppers will participate in 2-3 competitions in 2026

    • Lil Hoppers will perform their hip hop routine in the UDS recital

    • Cost per competition (depending on the competition):

      • $80-100 per dancer

    • Minis must be registered and regularly attending ballet 1/2, hip hop 1/2, and contemporary 1/2

    • Minis choreography fee - $200

    • Minis monthly rehearsal - FREE

    • Minis will compete one hip hop routine and one contemporary routine

    • Minis will participate in 2-3 competitions in 2026

    • Choreography is done by Chloe

    • Minis will perform both their routines will perform in the UDS recital

    • Cost per competition (depending on the competition):

      • $80-100 per group per dancer

    • Minis are also allowed to compete in solos, duos, and/or trios

      • $600 choreography fee per duo and/or trio (total, not per dancer)

      • $400 choreography fee per solo

      • Monthly rehearsal - FREE

    • 50% choreography due August 25th, 2025

    • remaining choreography balance due October 25th, 2025
